Shura Council discusses plans of its committees for 2019

SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – The Shura Council on Monday, in its meeting chaired by Acting Speaker of the Council Mohammed al-Aidarous, discussed plans and programs of its committees on agriculture, irrigation, water resources, education, scientific research, and health and population.

In the meeting, al-Aidarous emphasized that the year of 2019 would be full of activities and events in various issues, as a priority consistent with the functions of the constitutional powers of the Shura Council and the directives of the Supreme Political Council.

He confirmed that the council would continue to help and support the Political Council and the National Salvation Government in the current extraordinary situations by presenting proposals, recommendations and opinions to enhance the government institutions performance.

After that the three committee held their meetings separately, during which the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources elected Abdulrahman Makram as chairman of the committee, Mohammed al-Harazi as deputy chairman, and Mohammed al-Nusairi as a rapporteur.

The Committee on Education and Scientific Research elected Khalid al-Madani as chairman of the committee, Dr. Hussein al-Omari as deputy chairman, and Yahya Ghithan as a rapporteur.
