SANAA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – A suicide bomber attack targeted a military base of government forces in the southern region of Juba, a military source said.
According to the source, al-Shabaab militants launched a suicide bombing attack on “bar Sengoni”, the main military center of government forces in the Lower Juba region.
Ahmed Farah added that “the suicide bombing was followed by violent clashes between elements of al-Shabab fighters and government forces.”
Farah indicated that “the clashes continued for more than an hour in the vicinity of the military center.”
The al-Shabaab Somal movement claimed responsibility for the attack. There were no immediate reports of casualties during the attack or subsequent clashes.
