SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) –Six people, including elements of a Afghan police, were killed on Sunday after Taliban gunmen attacked a police station in Herat city, west of Afghanistan, according to provincial government spokesman .
According to Xinhua, provincial government spokesman Jilani Farhad said on Sunday that the incident took place late on Saturday after at least three gunmen attacked a police station in city’s 6th police district.
He added that among the dead were three policemen, two civilians, one a child and one of the attackers.
Three other policemen were wounded and special operations forces neutralized a car bomb left by the attackers, he said.
He noted that two of the attackers had fled the scene after failing to storm the building of the police station.
The Taliban movement claimed responsibility for the attack
