SANAA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The United States has sent ground troops and warships to Syria to help pull its troops out, the Wall Street newspaper reported.
According to the agency “Novosti,” the sources explained that the ground troops on its way to Syria will help in the withdrawal of US forces, while the ships will provide troops in the event of danger.
The group was headed by the US Navy landing ship Kirasarj, carrying hundreds of Marines and a number of helicopters.
A US official confirmed earlier that the United States began withdrawing its equipment from Syria, but has not yet begun the process of withdrawing troops.
The unnamed official said the withdrawal of the equipment was part of a process to begin withdrawing troops from Syria.
