local authority in Hodeidah condemns shelling of civilians’ houses
HODEIDAH, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The local authority in Hodeidah province condemned the continued violations of the ceasefire violations by Saudi-led coalition in Hodeidah province.
In a statement, the authority condemned the bombing of the houses of citizens in the area of July 7 in Hali district.
It pointed out that the forces of coalition were targeted by artillery bombardment on Wednesday evening four houses of citizens, causing damage and material and human losses in flagrant violation of the agreement of Sweden.
The statement called on the United Nations and the UN envoy to Yemen and the UN Monitoring Committee to assume their responsibilities towards the attacks of the people of the province of Hodeidah from night and day bombardment at a time that the Chairman and members of the Monitoring Committee exercise their functions in the implementation of the agreement of Sweden to redeploy in the province.
The statement pointed to the commitment of the army and to the cease-fire in the province to give a real opportunity for the UN Monitoring Committee to implement the agreement of Sweden on the ground, pointing to the right to retaliate in the appropriate manner and time.
