SANAA, Jan. 10 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment, Nabil Abdullah Al-Wazir, discussed on Wednesday with the Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) David Darthk the aspects of the cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization and means of enhancing and developing them.
Al-Wazir reviewed the projects carried out by the ministry and the efforts made to develop the work system for water and sanitation projects and the measures taken by the ministry in order to face the difficulties that accompanied the work process.
Al-Wazir pointed to the important and vital role played by international organizations in supporting Yemen and standing by its side in the face of the brutal aggression and unjust blockade.
He stressed the ministry’s keenness to develop and expand the existing partnership areas with the organization and to benefit from donor funds to cover the country’s water and sanitation projects as well as alternative energy projects which were the only option suitable for the ministry to run water wells due to lack of fuel.
In his part, the head of the mission of IOM pointed out that the organization is keen to support water and sanitation projects and looks forward to expanding partnership with the ministry.
Darthk reviewed the activities and programs carried out by the organization in Yemen, especially with regard to assisting refugees by arranging as well as support for the shelter of displaced persons and the provision of medicines and therapeutic supplies to the Ministry of Health.
Darthk stressed that the organization will coordinate with donors through the efforts to support the projects and programs of the Ministry of Water and Environment.
