North Korean president visits China

SANAA, Jan. 8 (YPA) – North Korean President Kim Jong-un arrived on a private train to Beijing train station on Tuesday morning to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported.

Kim Jong-un, the country’s top leader, is visiting China at the request of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

The top leader left Pyongyang on January 7, accompanied by his wife Lee Sul-joo, a number of government and armed forces officials including Kim Yong-chul, vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee, Foreign Minister Lee Yong-ho and vice chairman of the committee The CPC Central Committee for International Affairs, Lee Soo-young and the deputy chairman of the CPC Central Committee, Park Tae-sung, chairman of the People’s Armed Forces of New Guangchul.

The Chinese Xinhua news agency confirmed Kim’s visit to China and said that at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, from Jan. 7 to Jan. 10.

Beijing is the main diplomatic ally of North Pyongyang and its main source of trade and aid.

Kim visited China three times last year to meet Shi, and none of those visits has been announced in advance.

North Korea’s disarmament talks with Pyongyang and Washington have stalled, but expectations are mounting that Kim and Trump Donald, who said on Sunday the two sides are negotiating the venue of the upcoming summit, could hold a second one.

“We are negotiating a venue, most likely it will be announced not too long,” Trump told reporters in front of the White House in response to a question about his upcoming second summit with Kim.
