He claimed that the Israeli shelling came in response to the launching of a rocket from the Gaza Strip towards Israel late on Sunday.
The Israeli site “i24” said that the sirens sounded in the vicinity of the coastal city of Ashkelon in the south of occupied Palestine, in the early hours of dawn, warning of the arrival of a rocket-propelled grenade towards the city, noting that “missile defense system” Iron Dome “was then moments of missile intercept.
