SANAA, Jan. (YPA) – The fall of the Saudi crown prince after the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has been a lesson to the Muslims,” the British Observer newspaper reported on Sunday.
According to the newspaper, the trial of 11 charged with the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi started in Riyadh last week and the hearing was adjourned hastily.
The outcome of the trial may be settled, but the trial procedure itself is qualitative progress, it added.
It indicated “the authoritarian and undemocratic state like Saudi Arabia” was not immune to international views and could, in extreme cases, be compelled to respect the human right to justice.
The observer considers the Khashoggi’s case as a lesson for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is widely believed to have ordered the killing of Khashoggi in October.
