Yemeni army repels coalition militias’ attack in Asir

ASIR, Dec. 30 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces on Sunday managed to repel a large-scale attack by Saudi-led coalition militias at Alib crossing in Asir region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The official said that despite the militias’ attack was backed by various war aircrafts and military vehicles of the coalition, but it was faced with the army intensive artillery shelling, which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded in ranks of the militias and destroying several of their military vehicles.

The coalition warplanes continued flying over the area for more than 5 hours, in conjunction a combing operation with rockets and artillery bombing during the attack towards the crossing, he added.
