Shura Council listens to briefing from national negotiating delegation

SANAA, Dec. 24 (YPA) –  The Shura Council on Monday listened to a briefing from the national delegation participating in the Yemeni consultations held recently in Sweden.

In the meeting, the council’s acting speaker Mohammed al-Aidaros appreciated the positive results of the consultations, which he said represented the first step to achieve the Yemeni people’s aspirations towards peace.

“It is time for all parties to make more concessions to achieve a comprehensive and just peace, which preserves Yemen’s security, unity and independence,” said al-Aidaros.

He confirmed the council’s support for the national delegation through providing opinions and proposals related to the dialogue issues.

The Supreme Political Council’s member Sultan al-Samei hailed the efforts made the delegation during the consultations, confirming the political leadership’s support for achieving a comprehensive and just peace that preserves independence and unity of the Yemeni people.

In the meeting, the council’s members demanded the cessation of the war and lifting the siege on the land, sea and air ports.

They stressed that the national sovereignty and unity of the Yemeni people are main axes of any future consultations or dialogues.
