Saudi-led coalition arrests scores of protesters in Mokha city

MOKHA, Dec. 24 (YPA) -The Saudi-led coalition forces in the occupied city of Mokha have detained dozens of people following a wave of protests that erupted on Sunday in reaction to coalition’s militants raping a child in the area, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, the coalition-backed militants cracked down on protesters in a highly repressive way. It has also been confirmed that the group of the militants that had abducted and raped the child had not been arrested or punished for their crimes.

Reports say that officers of the militias had threatened to confront the protesting citizens by force of arms, if they insisted on continuing the protests.

The sources added that officers loyal to the Saudi-led invaders showed a willingness to testify in order to cover up the rape.

The invading coalition-backed militants are dealing aggressively with the Yemeni people under their occupation, with coalition forces occasionally carrying out arbitrary arrests against citizens on trumped-up charges.
