Transport Minister chairs meeting to discuss coordination of work at port of Hodeidah

SANAA, Dec. 23 (YPA) – Transport Minister Zakaria al-Shami on Saturday chaired a meeting to discuss coordination mechanism between the Ministry of Transport, the commercial and navigational sectors in the port of Hodeidah.

The meeting reviewed arrangements for the reopening of the port of Hodeidah to commercial goods and the readiness of the commercial sector and shipping companies to receive containers loaded with commercial goods.

Al-Shami stressed the importance of partnership and coordination between all sectors of the Ministry and the private sector in cooperation with the shipping companies because they have a significant role in alleviating the suffering of Yemeni citizens.

The rehabilitation Hodeidah port to receive all ships from all over the world will help boost the national economy and overcome the economic crisis afflicting the Yemeni people, he said.

“The aggression imposed a complete and comprehensive blockade on the Yemeni people with the aim of starving them to plunder their national sovereignty and making them under guardianship,” he added.

The Minister of Transport noted that the agreement of Sweden under the auspices of the United Nations confirmed the reopening of Hodeidah port to commercial goods.
