Supreme Political Council renews its support for peace efforts

SANAA, Dec. 19 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council on Wednesday reiterated its fixed position in support of any serious efforts to bring honorable peace.

In its meeting chaired by President Mahdi al-Mashat, the council welcomed the outcomes of the consultations recently held in Sweden, stressing the importance of working for their success, especially with regard to the economic file and Sanaa International Airport, which Riyadh-backed delegation tried to disrupt.

The council confirmed that it has dealt responsibly with the issues of Hodeidah and Taiz and the file of prisoners in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

In this regard, the council praised the performance of the national negotiating delegation and the efforts made by the United Nations represented by its Secretary-General and his Special Envoy to Yemen.

The Council expressed its thanks to the Kingdom of Sweden and the State of Kuwait and all the diplomatic efforts to prepare for holding the consultations.
