SANAA, Dec. 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier General Yahia Sarie, said on Monday the Saudi-led coalition fighter jets waged 79 strikes on several provinces over the past 48 hours.
In a statement, Sarie affirmed the fighter jets waged 79 strikes simultaneously with artillery and missile attacks carried out by the coalition militiamen on residential areas.
The strikes concentrated on several provinces of Marib, Saada, Hajjah, Dhamar, Jawf, Jizan, Najran, Bayda and Hodeidah.
“The coalition’s attacks come with approaching ceasefire led by the UN in the peace consultations in Sweden,” Sarie said.
The spokesman said the Yemeni army repelled 10 attacks towards several fronts, killing and injuring scores of the militiamen, as well as destroying several military vehicles.
The spokesman stressed that the Yemeni army has the right to respond to any military escalation by the coalition.
