Army repels large-scale attack of Saudi-backed militants in Asir

ASIR, Dec. 9 (YPA) – The Yemeni army on Sunday repelled a large-scale attack carried out by militants loyal to Saudi army in Asir region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, dozens of the militants were killed and wounded in the battle which took place in Alib crossing.

A military vehicle loaded with militants was destroyed with a guided missile in the attack, the official said.

The official indicated that the militants carried out their foiled attack with intensive air cover of the coalition warplanes, but without making any progress on the ground.
