Protest rally holds in Swedish demanding cessation of war on Yemen, lifting of siege
SANAA, Dec. 9 (YPA) –Swedish capital Stockholm on Saturday witnessed a protest rally demanding the cessation of the war waged by the Saudi-led coalition countries on Yemen and the swift lifting of the siege.
Participants in the demonstration, which coincided with the Yemeni consultations held under the auspices of an international organization in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, echoed slogans denouncing the war waged by the coalition countries on Yemen since 2015.
The participants called for the organization organized by the Swedish Association for the Support of Yemen, in cooperation with a group of Yemenis, to stop the targeting of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition aircraft and the speed of lifting the siege.

“Solidarity with Yemen is the responsibility of all,” said Olaf Sandrick, president of the Swedish Association for Yemen Support, adding that “It is important to say that Saudi Arabia launched the war and started it. There is a government in Sanaa working but no one is talking about it.”
Sandrick said the Western world is under a barbaric blockade against Yemen, organized by the major powers of France, Britain and America, which supplies the Saudi alliance with weapons, including Sweden.
,” Sandrick said, “Saudi Arabia is acting only by order of the Western powers and we have a great responsibility to end these barbaric acts now.”
The rally, which was held at the Udenplan Square in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, included members of the Yemeni community in Sweden and Swedish citizens, as well as Syrian, Iraqi and Lebanese Arab communities.
