Largest oil rig sold in corruption deal worth $ 25 million dollar in Shabwa

SHABWA, Dec. 4 (YPA) -Local sources disclosed the sale of one of the largest oil rigs of a Shabwa oil company for more than $25 million.

According to the sources, more than 30 carriers loaded with 221 pieces of equipment from the US Company Nabors Industries, arrived overnight from the Al-Aqlah field in Shabwa to Hadramawt province on Monday.

The move comes after a corrupt deal concluded by the Shabwa elite militias with the leadership of the UAE occupation forces, who claimed that businessman al-Hadhrami Anwar al-Tamimi bought the rig for more than $25 million US dollars.

The owner of the rig had left Shabwa province more than 25 years ago and recently received compensation from the Bahrain Insurance Company.

Oil experts confirm that the transfer of the Nabors rig, which is the largest in Yemen, from Shabwa to Hadramawt, was the result of a very big backroom deal made in Shabwa.

The Saudi-backed elite militias in the area apparently were in the position of concluding the deal with the UAE occupation leadership in Aden, directing the rig to be moved from Shabwa irreversibly.
