SANAA, Dec. 1 (YPA) – Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator for the United Nations Mark Lowcock, said he was pleased to confirm the authorities’ readiness in Sanaa to send a delegation to Sweden to participate in peace for the talks to be convened by the UN envoy Martin Griffiths for Yemen.
In a statement posted on the UN news website on Saturday, Lowcock urged the parties to stop conflict in Hodeidah to facilities humanitarian assistance and to protect the supply of food and other essential goods.
“Yemen is on the brink of a major disaster and a situation has deteriorated in a worrying way,” the UN official added.
