FM meets UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs

SANAA, Nov. 29 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Thursday met in the capital Sanaa with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs ,Mark Lowcock, and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Yemen to see the humanitarian situation.

The meeting touched upon the human suffering faced by the Yemeni people in light of the aggression and all-out siege imposed on the country by Saudi-led coalition countries.

In the meeting, Sharaf called for stopping the aggression and bringing peace as a real way to end the worsening suffering of Yemenis.

Sharaf confirmed the support of the political leadership, represented by the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government, for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Yemen.

For his part, Lowcock stressed the importance of avoiding the destruction of Hodeidah port, as that would have serious impact on lives of Yemeni citizens.

“Ending the suffering of Yemenis is linked to the achievement of comprehensive peace in Yemen,” he said.
