UAE vessel catches fire off Socotra coast

SOCOTRA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – A UAE merchant ship loaded with a number of cars on Wednesday caught fire off the coast of Yemeni Island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean.

Witnesses said that the flames were seen rising from, which was coming from the UAE, carrying 25 cars, consumer goods and building materials.

They added that citizens tried to extinguish the fire through the boats, but those attempts failed.

No details were given about the number of casualties and losses.
