UAE-backed militias’ commander in Shabwa resigns his post

SHABWA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – A commander of the UAE-backed militias in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, on Tuesday resigned from the tasks assigned to him.

Khalid Mansour Ali al-Sulaimani, commander of the so-called “Shabwani elite forces” in the oil port of Belhaf, submitted his resignation to the UAE forces’ representative in Belhaf area without mentioning any motive for the resignation.

According to local sources, al-Sulaimani asked to be excused from any post or functions he had previously been charged with.

Political observers explained that the resignations of many commanders of the UAE-backed militias came after the UAE occupation’s policy has become clear in eliminating those commanders in several southern provinces.

Others see that al-Sulaimani’s resignation came against the background of the UAE occupation’s looting oil resources of Shabwa and sharing them with the government of Hadi.
