7 dead, 4 injured in car collision at bus station in China

SANAA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – At least seven people were killed and four others injured on Tuesday after a vehicle collided with a bus station in Sichuan province, southwest China, local authorities said.

“The car drove onto a sidewalk before hitting the bus station near the village of Wangchang,” the official China News agency Xinhua said.

“The incident left seven people dead and four others injured,” the branch of the Public Security Bureau in Shawan district said, adding that “the injured were taken to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment.”

The driver was detained and investigations are under way, police said in a statement.
