Transport, Planning Ministers discuss possibility of Int’l support for Hodeidah port

SANAA, Nov. 24 (YPA) – Transport Minister Zakaria al-Shami on Saturday discussed with Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdulaziz al-Kumaim the possibility of supporting the port of Hodeidah through international organizations.

The two ministers touched on the damage caused to the port’s infrastructure as a result of Saudi-led coalition air bombing.

At the meeting, al-Shami pointed out that the port is operating with simple potential to receive ships loaded with food, medicines and oil derivatives.

“Despite the destruction in its equipment, the port of Hodeidah still present services to the international organizations,” he added.

He called on the international organizations to support the port as it is the main lifeline for Yemeni people.
