Armed attack targets UAE-backed militias in Shabwa

SHABWA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Several UAE-backed militiamen were killed and others injured in armed attack on their military post at dawn on Saturday in Shabwa province, southeast of Yemen, an official told Yemen Press Agency.

Unknown gunmen launched an attack with various weapons, including R.P.Gs, on a military point of the so-called “Shabwani Elite Forces”, funded by the UAE occupation, at a fuel station in Nasab district, according to the official.

The attack resulted in several dead and wounded, while the gunmen fled, he added.

The move came after the UAE-backed militias had controlled all oil areas of the province, demanding the expelling of the remaining forces of Hadi’s government and others loyal to the military leader of Islah Party, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.
