Iran to send peacekeepers forces to Idlib at request of Syrian regime

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said that Iran would send peacekeepers forces to Idlib province and north-west of Aleppo region, at the request of the Syrian regime.

“Based on the ongoing peace negotiations on Syria, Damascus has asked Iran to send peacekeepers forces to the two areas,” Jafari was quoted by Iranian media as saying.

He reiterated that “all members of the Iranian forces in Syria are volunteers, the majority of whom are advisers,” adding: “There are no armed clashes currently in Syria.”
