Shura Council condemns coalition’s crimes, attacks on Hodeidah Port

SANAA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – The Shura Council on Tuesday strongly condemned Saudi-led coalition’s frequent crimes, the most recent is targeting the port of Hodeidah, which is the main lifeline for 27 million Yemeni citizens.

“Targeting the port of Hodeidah and its container terminal and cranes represents a violation of international humanitarian law and a disregard for the United Nations calls that warned of bombing the port,” the council said in a statement.

The statement called on the United Nations and the Security Council to take responsibilities towards what is happening in Yemen and “to intervene to stop the blatant aggression and lift the continual siege for the fourth year in a row.”

The council reiterated its call for the formation of an international independent committee to investigate the crimes and massacres committed by the coalition in Yemen, especially in the western coast and Hodeidah province.
