US Rabbi: GCC states most keen on rapprochement with Israel
SANAA, March 3 (YPA) – The US prominent Rabbi, Marc Schneier, said Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are the most keen on rapprochement with Israel.
In an interview with i24NEWS, Schneier said he had visited the GCC states since 2009 as head of the Foundation For Ethnic Understanding (FFEU), based in New York, noting that he saw “some changes in the royal families in Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia with a view of Israel.”
The US Rabbi stated that the GCC states are waiting for Israeli Prime Minister to take “a daring and courageous step” to start the process of establishing diplomatic relations with them.
“We are living in a historic and exciting period,” he added.
Rabbi Schneier, who is a radical leader in New York, predicted full diplomatic relations between Israel and Bahrain in just two years.
He revealed that he conveyed the positive impressions of Bahrain officials about Israel to their Israeli counterparts.
A Bahraini delegation visited al-Quds al-Sharif, in conjunction with US President Donald Trump’s declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli entity in last December.
In the same context, a delegation of Jews visited King of Bahrain and met with Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Zayed Zayani, who welcomed the visit and stressed the need to continue such visits.
