Death toll from California fire rises to 23

SANAA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The death toll from the most devastating fire in California’s history rose to 23 people, a local official said on Sunday.

“Today, 14 bodies were recovered, bringing the total number of people killed to 23,” Sheriff Kory Honea told reporters in a news conference.

Firefighters are battling raging fires at both ends of the state, but there is little hope of containing the flames anytime soon, he added.

The sheriff indicated that 19 bodies had been found in the city of Paradise and 4 in the Konau region.
