Turkey calls on Washington to sever ties with Kurdish units in Syria

SANAA, Nov. 8 (YPA) – Ankara expects that the US to sever all ties with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria, the Turkish presidency said in a statement.

“Turkey’s basic expectations of the United States, which is our NATO ally and strategic partner, is that could end its ties with and support for the Democratic Union Party and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria,” Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Wednesday.

He stressed that Turkey will not ease its stance on the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) which it regards as a Syrian branch of the PKK and a terrorist organization.
