Director of Presidency Office meets UNICEF’s Regional Director

SANAA, Nov. 1 (YPA) – Director of the Presidency Office, Ahmad Hamid, on Wednesday met with the Regional Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for the Middle East and North Africa region, Khairat Kabalari in Sanaa.

During the meeting, they discussed topics related to UNICEF activities and its role in supporting and implementing many humanitarian programmes, as well as supporting a number of Service and development projects.

The meeting addressed the needs of Yemen for support in various fields especially health sectors in all provinces, stressing that all hospitals need with equipment, medicines, and therapeutic supplies, in addition to supporting the educational process.

Aspects related to coordination and partnership between the organization and various sectors of Yemen were discussed too.

Director of the Presidency Office urged the National Commission for the Management and coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to facilitate the tasks of UNICEF working in the humanitarian field to overcome the difficulties that they might face.

For his part, the UNICEF Regional Director confirmed  UNICEF’s readiness to support services, including sustainable projects.

He also provided a brief description of UNICEF efforts and its role in supporting important service projects and its efforts to mobilize international support for Yemen.
