Germany warns against US withdrawal from nuclear weapons treaty

SANAA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – German Foreign Minister Haikou Mas called on the United States of America to carefully consider the consequences of its withdrew from  the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

“For over 30 years, the Treaty has been an essential pillar of Europe’s security,” Reuters  Quoted Mas in a statement as saying on Sunday.

“We have often urged Russia to deal with serious accusations of breaches of the Convention, and we are now asking the United States to look carefully at the possible consequences of its withdrawal,” he said.

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the US would pull out from the nuclear weapons treaty signed with Russia.
