SANAA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire announced on Thursday that he would cancel his participation in an investment forum in Riyadh next week after the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
“I am not going to Riyadh next week,” Le Maire told “Sina TV”.
“The President Emmanuel Macron said the facts are very serious,” referring to the fate of Khashoggi amid Turkish reports that he was killed inside the Saudi consulate by order from Riyadh.
“The circumstances are not available nowadays go to Riyadh,” he said.
Since news of Khashoggi’s disappearance, many American companies, including Uber [UBER.UL], Viacom (VIAB.O) and Ford (F.N), have pulled out of the three-day conference, known as “Davos in the Desert.”
According to the CNN, the Saudi government is preparing to announce its approval of the killing of Khashoggi by mistake.
On Monday, Turkish authorities searched the Saudi consulate and found evidence of the killing of Khashoggi.
