Over 40 companies, money exchange shops seized in Sanaa: official says

SANAA, Oct. 4 (YPA) – Over 40 companies and money exchange shops seized on Wednesday due to their manipulating of exchange rates in the capital Sanaa, an official in the supreme Economic Committee told Yemen Press Agency.

He said that local authorities in Sanaa launched a large-scale campaign against companies and exchange shops which manipulating exchange rates and deal in a banned currency in the Capital Secretariat.

He added that the move came to implement the of the directives orders of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Madi al-Mashat.

During the campaign, more than 40 companies and foreign exchange shops were seized in the capital’s municipality, stressing that similar campaign will be carried out in the other provinces of the Republic.

The campaign is part of a series of measures to be taken in the coming days aimed at reducing the impact of speculation of the currency in the occupied territories, the official said.

The official stressed that these measures are only to reduce the effects and the main solution to this issues is to withdraw the recently printed currency from mercenaries and re-export oil and gas.

The official hold the aggression countries headed by America, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the exiled Hadi’s Government responsible for what is going of targeting of the national economy and currency.
