Death toll of Indonesian quake rises to 1400

SANAA, Oct. 3 (YPA) – The death toll from an earthquake and tsunami on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi has reached 1400 people, according to new statistic released by the Indonesian authorities.

The United Nation aid agency said that “enormous needs for both survivors and rescue operations are required.”

“The toll has risen to 1374 dead and 113 wounded, and there are still bodies trapped under the rubble, we don’t know how many, and our priority remains to find victims and save people, ” Head of the National Agency for Disaster Management,  Willem Rampangilei was quoted as saying by Agency France-Press (AFP).
