SANAA, Oct. 2 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the southern part of Indonesia, four days after a devastating earthquake in Sulawesi killed at least 1234 people.
” A 6.2-Magnitude Earthquake struck the island of Flores in southern Indonesia,” Reuters quoted the US Geological Survey as saying on Tuesday.
The Geological Survey body later reduced the quake to 5.9 degrees, and the quake occurred about 250 kilometers southwest of Andy on Flores Island.
No tsunami warnings were immediately issued and no casualties or material damages were reported.
Rescuers have recovered 34 bodies of children from under the rubble of church in Palu, due to the devastating earthquake and tsunami which struck the island of Sulawesi on Friday.
The Friday‘s earthquake and tsunami killed at least 1234 people and displaced over 59, 000 people, according to official figures.
