FM meets WFP Representative in Yemen

SANAA, Sept.30 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday met with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Yemen Stephen Anderson.

The meeting touched on the WFP activities, especially in Hodeidah province, where citizens are in urgent need of food aid, as a result of the military escalation of the Saudi-led coalition countries along the western coast.

Sharaf noted to directives of the political leadership and the National Salvation Government on providing all facilities to all the offices of international organizations operating in Yemen.

For his part, the WFP representative said that the program is aware of the seriousness of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen and that it works as much it can to reach all areas that need food assistance.
