Yemeni army foils infiltration attempt of coalition-backed militants in Bayda

BAYDA, Sept. 27 (YPA) – The Yemeni army and popular committees on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt of coalition-backed militants towards Qaniyah district in the central province of Bayda, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

 The official said that the army forces were able to destroy an armored vehicle, damage BMW car and a 14.5-caliber machine gun with guided missiles during the attack.

Over 18 militants were killed and several others injured during their attempt to make progress on the ground, the official added.

 The official indicated that the Saudi-led coalition launched several air strikes to back its militants in their failed attempt.
