Saudi occupation forces besiege Mahrah’s tribes, declare “Al Kharkheer” as oil zone

MAHRAH, Sept. 25 (YPA) – Dozens of Mahrah tribesmen on Monday held a protest in the Saudi Kharkheer area, protesting against the Saudi authorities’ blockade and cutting off public services to their areas, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, The Saudi authorities besieged the civilians of Mahrah for the second consecutive day inside “Kharkheer” district without water and food.

The Saudi authorities refused to grant citizenship to their sons since 20 years ago, and they cannot bring themselves out or leave Almaleek neighborhood where they live, one of the sources said.

Earlier, Saudi authorities announced that al-Kharkheer is a military area and now again it declared it as an “oil” zone and issued orders to the local residents to leave the area.

The move was rejected by Marhrah’s tribesmen since they have been living on this land for hundreds of years, in addition to the fact that the Saudi authorities declined to grant them the right of citizenship.

Civilians in Mahrah suffer due to the injustice practices of the Saudi regime inside the Saudi border, not only that but the suffering also has spread to the Yemeni territory, where Saudi Arabia is seeking to take control of the province through the deployment of large military forces.

The Saudi presence has been witnessing a popular and social rejection from the tribes and the leadership of the province, which sees the Saudi presence as an occupation.
