Saudi-backed militia infiltration bid foiled in Najran

NAJRAN, Sept. 23 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces on Sunday repelled a wide-scale infiltration attempt carried out by Saudi-backed militia toward al-Souh area in Najran region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The confrontations resulted in heavy losses in ranks of the militiamen, which forced them to retreat, the official said.

Meanwhile, six Saudi soldiers were killed in an attack targeted their gathering in Raqabat Thuwilab in Najran with a guided rocket, while a military vehicle was destroyed by the army’s sniping unit in the same area.

On Saturday, the army units carried out an offensive against positions of the Saudi-backed militia in a series of Alib Mountains in Najran, killing and wounding many of the militiamen.
