SANAA, Sep. 22 (YPA) – Afghan authorities announced on Saturday that 8 children were killed and six wounded when an explosive device bombed in northern Afghanistan.
Afghan authorities said 14 children were killed and wounded in a village in the state of Faryab, which was seized by the Taliban last week.
On Friday night, an explosive device exploded in the village of Koh Sayad, belonging to the district of Shirin Tgab, resulting in the death of 8 children and the wounding of six others,” Javaid Bedar, spokesman for the governor of Faryab, told Sputnik.
Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan seized control of the area last week after fierce battles with internal security forces that have retreated to nearby villages.
A 9-year-old boy was killed and another 11-year-old was injured in a rocket attack by militants on the market of Ghraziwan province in Afghan three days ago.
The Taliban have not commented on the incident until now.
