Yemenis ready to commemorate 10th of Muharram (Ashura) in Sanaa

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – The Yemeni people are preparing to commemorate 10th of Muharram (Ashura), the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on Thursday afternoon in the capital Sana’a.

The organizing committee called on all the Yemeni people to take part in this great march which coincided with 10th of Muharram.

The event will take place at the airport Street, the committee said.

The anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein came while Yemen is under war and an injustice blockade imposed by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition, which has been committing the most heinous crimes against Yemenis since March 2015.

Millions of Muslims across the whole world commemorate the martyrdom of the son of the prophet, Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his companions in the 10th of Muharram Ashura.
