Yemeni army attack coalition-backed militants in western coast

WESTERN COAST, Sept. 19 (YPA) – The Yemeni army and popular committees on Wednesday launched an offensive on the on the positions the coalition-backed militants in Yemen’s Hodeidah province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The army forces attacked the militants’ sites in several parts of Hays district in the western coast, the official said.

The offensive lasted approximately for seven-hours in which the army forces were able to reach to the sites of the militants, the official added.

Dozens of militants were killed and injured in the attack while the rest of the fled, the official confirmed.

The official indicated that an armored car belonging to the militants was burned during the attack.
