Water, Environment Minister meets WHO Resident Representative
SANAA, Sep. 16 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment, Nabil Abdullah Al-Wazir, on Saturday discussed with the World Health Organization (WHO) Resident Representative Dr. Nivio Zaqaria the importance of coordination and joint work between the Ministry and the Organization in water and environmental sanitation activities, which were almost non-existent in the past.
During a meeting, the officials stressed that the efforts should be coordinated in the work and activities in the area of cholera control, as is the case with other active organizations.
The meeting touched on coordination in several water activities and cooperation between the two sides to develop the water quality laboratory of the General Authority for Water Resources.
The Minister of Water and Environment stressed on the Ministry’s keenness to coordinate efforts and partnership with the organizations working in Yemen, both in the field of water programs and activities or in the field of cholera epidemic prevention.
