US announces closure of PLO office in Washington

WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (YPA) – The US Department of State announced on Monday the closure of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington.

“After careful analysis, the (US) administration decided to close the PLO office in Washington,” the Department of State said in a statement.

“The United States still considers that the direct negotiations between the two sides are the only way to move forward,” the statement added. “Such procedures should not be exploited by those who seek to prevent a peace agreement. ”
