MUKALLA, Sept. 4 (YPA) – Thousands of citizens in Mukalla City, on Tuesday carried out a civil disobedience and protests, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The move came in a response to the call of the Southern Transitional Council, which is funded by the United Arab of Emirates (UAE) occupation forces.
Dozens of protesters blocked the streets and main roads between the city’s neighborhoods.
They also burned tires as a protest for the deterioration of the local currency in front of US Dollar.
Protesters said that this act is a part of the overall civil disobedience carried out in some southern provinces.
The streets appeared free of pedestrians and closed shops, the sources added.
The Coalition-backed militias in military uniforms and military mechanisms were deployed to the streets in anticipation of the expansion of protests.
