Massive popular protests hit Aden over currency collapse

SANAA, Sep. 2 (YPA) – Massive popular street protests hit the UAE-Saud-backed southern port city of Aden on Sunday over major collapse of the country’s currency.

The thousands of protesters, blocked the streets and set tires on fire, engaged in fierce clashes against the UAE-Saudi-backed security forces.

The forces opened fire in response to attempt to disprate the crowds and re-open the streets.

Residents said one protestor was shot dead during the confrontations.

The angry crowds demanded the overthrow of Saudi-backed weak resigned president Hadi and his local authorities. They also demanded foreign UAE and Saudi-backed militias to exit the city after nearly three years of econmic corruption.
