Hadi appoints Hashim al-Ahmar as military commander as reaction to UAE provocations

SANAA, Feb, 18. (YPA) –A number of decisions were issued to appoint military leaders in the 5th and 6th military regions by the exiled Riyadh –based president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, a closed source told Yemen Press Agency.

Hadi appointed general Hashim al-Ahmar as Brigadier General Commander of the Sixth Military Region and the commander of the commander of the infantry 141st brigade and promoted to the Major General rank.

The appointment of al-Ahmer is according to Saudi will, as reaction against the recent movements of the UAE occupation forces and the slain former president Ali Abdullah Saleh nephew to take military task in the northern region of Yemen.

Reports and indications on the ground point to emerging disagreements between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the war on Yemen, especially with the expansion of the UAE occupation forces in the south and its control over the wealth natural resources areas in Yemen.
