Dozens military leaders loyal to coalition killed in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Dozens of commanders loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, including three senior, were killed by Yemeni army fire on the western coast front in Hodeidah province over the past couple days, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, Bakil Abdulhameed al-Matrafi, commander of the so-called the fourth battalion in the 2nd Amaliqa Brigade, was killed by the Yemeni army fire in the western coast front.

Nizar al-Wajieh, a commander in the Amaliqa brigades, was killed along with several of his escorts as a result of the UAE warplanes’ bombing on al-Tuhayta area on Friday.

Khalid al-Mezjaji, a leader of Saudi-backed militia was shot dead in a sniping operation in Hais district on the western coast front.

The official confirmed that the army forces retook al-Jah al-Asfal Souk and cleansed one of al-Jah villages after a military operation resulted in several dead and wounded in the coalition forces ranks, as well as destroying a military vehicle loaded with militiamen and seizing military equipment.
