UNICEF calls for stopping war on children in Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Friday called for an end to the war on children in Yemen.

” 26 children and their mothers were reported Thursday to have been killed in attacks in Durihemi district, northern Yemen,” Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said in a press release.

Cappelaere confirmed that children are still affected by this fierce and violent war. “Where will this cruelty end? Stop the war on children in Yemen.”

The Saudi-led coalition forces targeted on Thursday evening the Durihemi area, killing and wounding 30 displaced people, including 22 children and four girls.
